This Sabbath, the children will be putting together Operation Christmas Child boxes. There have been 4 contributors thus far that have brought in shoe boxes and items specifically for the children to put together.
This is a specific request for items that the children will choose and place in their own personal boxes to give them the wonderful hands-on experience of ministry. The children learned that they can do great things with God’s strength and last Sabbath, 2 FYG members were so moved to ask their parents to go shopping already & make up a few boxes on their own!
This is a wonderful opportunity for children to minister to other children which is why we are asking if anyone is able, to please bring in some items specifically for the children to pick & choose from to make up there own personal boxes here at the church this Sabbath. If you are able, please bring the items either on Friday evening or as early as possible on Sabbath morning so the FYG leaders can organize the items. Below is an idea list of items to bring in along with a shoe box so that each child will be able to participate.
GIFT IDEAS
TOYS -
Small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, small Etch A Sketch®, toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries), Slinky®, etc.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES -
Pens, pencils and sharpener, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, etc..
HYGIENE ITEMS -
Toothbrush, toothpaste, mild bar soap (in a plastic bag), comb, washcloth, etc.
OTHER -
Hard candy and lollipops (please double bag all candy), mints, gum, T-shirts, socks, ball caps; sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries)
